Anyone looking to customize and automate TEM functions through scripting will find PyJEM indispensable. As a Python-based interface, PyJEM enables users to standardise recurring measurement routines and efficiently design complex experiments and analytical workflows. Within the framework of the TEMGemini project—an initiative focused on advancing data-driven and automated methods in transmission electron microscopy (TEM)—NTNU in Trondheim is hosting a free workshop from June 2 to June 4.
JEOL is supporting the NEMI Workshop 2026 (Norwegian Electron Microscopy Infrastructure) by contributing to one of the three workshop modules. Application specialist Dr. Julius Bürger will present automation approaches for TEM control and demonstrate how HAADF and EDS measurements can be performed efficiently and precisely using PyJEM.
The workshop is aimed at researchers and users from academia and industry who are interested in optimising their analytical workflows and implementing modern automation solutions in transmission electron microscopy.
